Our Story
Born from a festival idea.
Skin ’n Roll started with a simple question:
What if crispy chicken skin became the wrapper instead of the filling?
The idea came more than ten years ago at a festival in Slovakia, while eating crispy chicken and rice — the kind of food I grew up with and still love.
So I went home and made it. Crispy chicken skin wrapped around seasoned rice and juicy chicken. It sounded ridiculous. But it tasted incredible.
Then life got in the way. A corporate career, long hours and endless meetings pushed the idea into the background.
But I always came back to food. Cooking for people. Testing flavours. Dreaming about opening something of my own.
Eventually, I realised the things we can’t stop thinking about are usually the things we’re supposed to do.
Skin ’n Roll is inspired by the food I grew up eating in Slovakia — crispy chicken, rice, pickles and apricot compote — combined with a festival spirit and a love for doing things differently.
It’s not sushi. It’s not fried chicken. It’s something new.
